Stasha Powell Receives Pushcart Prize Nomination for “Feathered Dislocations”

Cleveland, OH — Poet and writer Stasha Powell, known for her vivid imagery, witch-touched lyricism, and emotionally resonant storytelling, has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize for her poem “Feathered Dislocations.” The nomination was submitted by Keeping the Flame Alive Press, recognizing the strength, originality, and emotional impact of Powell’s work.

The Pushcart Prize honors the finest poetry, short fiction, and essays published by small presses each year. Powell’s nomination marks a significant milestone in her literary journey and reflects her rising presence in contemporary poetry.

“I’m honored and deeply grateful,” Powell said. “To have ‘Feathered Dislocations’ uplifted in this way is both surreal and inspiring.”

Powell continues to develop new projects under her creative persona Stasha Strange, whose aesthetic blends mysticism, nature, emotional truth, and the beautiful strangeness of the world.

About the Author:

Stasha Powell (aka Stasha Strange) is a Pushcart Prize-nominated Cleveland-based poet, creative writing student, and advocate whose work explores identity, trauma, magic, and transformation through rich sensory detail and mythic undertones. Her writing has been featured across multiple literary spaces, and her debut anthology, CAW: Poetry by a Murder of Writers, showcases her signature blend of lyrical intensity and witchy atmosphere. Powell is currently pursuing a degree in Creative Writing with a concentration in Poetry and continues to build a growing body of work rooted in vulnerability, imagination, and fierce emotional clarity. Thursday, August 22nd as we will be welcoming in poet and storyteller Stasha Strange to this edition of "8 Questions with......."

We will be chatting with Stasha about her poetry and writing as well as her other love which is photography.
