My darling darklings,
I had originally planned to release Comfort Chaos in October 2026. Unfortunately, a spectacularly unpoetic combination of computer problems and G-Drive issues ate up a significant amount of the time I had set aside to work on the book. I could rush to meet the original deadline, but I'm not going to.
I've lived with these poems for too long, and this book means too much to me, to release a version that's simply "finished enough" because I picked a date on a calendar. Which brings us to 2027. I won't want to publish in an odd-numbered year. Is there a rational reason for this? No. Am I going to examine this believe more closely? Also no.
So Comfort Chaos officially has a new publication date:
February 28, 2028. My birthday. Honestly, the more I sit with it, the more it feels right. This gives me the time to make the book I actually want to put into the world, not the book I could produce if I hurried.
The cover artwork is already finished, and I'm working on the typography now. Once that's done, I'm hanging a copy above my desk as a reminder of where I'm headed. Comfort Chaos is still coming. I'm just giving it the time it deserves.
February 28, 2028. Save the date.
(It's an even-numbered year. As nature intended.)
Until then you can still get CAW: Poetry by a Murder of Writers at all major book sellers. And you can still get my chapbook POW! directly from me for $10.
Sincerely,
Stasha
P.S. Meet Comfort
