Stasha Powell Receives Pushcart Prize Nomination for “Feathered Dislocations”


Cleveland, OH — Poet and writer Stasha Powell, known for her vivid imagery, witch-touched lyricism, and emotionally resonant storytelling, has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize for her poem “Feathered Dislocations.” The nomination was submitted by Keeping the Flame Alive Press, recognizing the strength, originality, and emotional impact of Powell’s work.

The Pushcart Prize honors the finest poetry, short fiction, and essays published by small presses each year. Powell’s nomination marks a significant milestone in her literary journey and reflects her rising presence in contemporary poetry.

Her writing has been featured in multiple literary spaces, and her debut collection CAW: Poetry by a Murder of Writers showcases her signature blend of lyrical intensity and witchy atmosphere. Powell is currently pursuing a degree in Creative Writing with a concentration in Poetry and continues to build a growing body of work rooted in vulnerability, imagination, and fierce emotional clarity.

Stasha Powell, also known as Stasha Strange, is a Pushcart Prize–nominated poet and self-described grief alchemist, transforming loss into language through mysticism, emotional truth, and lush sensory imagery. She is the creator, editor, and curator of CAW: Poetry by a Murder of Writers, an anthology. Her poem “Feathered Dislocations” was nominated for the Pushcart Prize by Keeping the Flame Alive Press.

Stasha’s work stitches together themes of mortality, transformation, and forest creatures, creating a morbid and macabre landscape that invites readers to explore the depths of their own souls. With a voice that resonates with those who find solace in the darker aspects of life, her poetry reflects both an intimate inner world and a guiding light for others navigating the complexities of existence.
